Biomimicry is an approach to innovation that seeks sustainable solutions to human challenges by emulating nature’s time-tested patterns and strategies.

The goal is to create products, processes, and policies—new ways of living—that are well-adapted to life on earth over the long haul.

The core idea is that nature has already solved many of the problems we are grappling with. Animals, plants, and microbes are the consummate engineers. After billions of years of research and development, failures are fossils, and what surrounds us is the secret to survival.

Lemon and Balloon activities

1 The first activity was of lemon in which all students noted down 15 characteristics of lemon on paper (including shape, size, taste, etc ) . After that he lemons were exchanged among every student & were supposed to  write down about new lemon which they exchanged. Each individual cross verified their lemon specifications & completed the activity.

2 Another activity was of balloon in which every group were meant to make a tower from the balloons using cello tape. Everyone enjoyed performing this activity,

3 One more activity was given by our concerned faculty , & it was about to write regarding “If u were teacher on Monday “. Five students shared their views about this in front of the class.

Here comes the new session of AEIOU sheet.

All the students choose a domain, & related to that they selected a place to visit.

Here each group was supposed to go at the decided place & take observations regarding the places. Everyone noted down their individual observation & created the aeiou sheet.

Our group domain was Town planning, & we choose Sargam Shopping centre as the site of observation to locate.

2017/10/05 Empathy Sheet

The next step of design engineering after mind mapping is empathy canvas.

Here, we were asked to talk to the people who worked at the construction site (our domain) and understand and empathise with them. we had to understand their happy and sad moments and thus write two stories each.

My user was the glass fabricator

And the stories were based on the happieness and pride he has towards his work and the difficulties he faces.

2017/07/15 ROLE PLAY

An interesting topic related to real life

Here we were asked to think of

ourselves as one of our family

members and write how we would

spend our day. I chose to be y sister

and wrote about the day she does not

go to school.

This kind of activity allows us to observe and empathise with the people we live. It also helps us to understand the difficulties faced by one in their daily life.
